MRC) -- A large-scale reconstruction has been completed at the Volgograd refinery, said Hyddrocarbonprocessing.The project included modernization of the CDU-VDU-5 crude distillation unit with production capacity of 3.5 MMtpy and the solvent extraction unit with production capacity of 300, 000 tpy. More than 230 items of core equipment were installed, and outdated technology was decommissioned. Over 70% of the equipment used in reconstruction was made in Russia. The site covered 34 thousand square meters and the total investment in the project was more than 12 billion roubles. Implementation of the project will increase refinery output by 400 thousand tons per year and intensify production for kerosene, diesel and other fractions. The energy efficiency and CO2 intensity of the refinery are expected to increase with the introduction of digital and technological solutions. In 2021, LUKOIL commissioned a complex for high-viscosity oils at its Volgograd refining facility. The facility was built at a cost of about 10 billion roubles.
